Syncing Outlook with MyPTSMail

To sync your Outlook calendar,contacts,notes and task manager with your MyPTSMail account you can do the following:
First download funambol. Take the Outlook client and install it.

Your Settings should be:

    Sync Server: http://mailbox3.myptsmail.com/egroupware/rpc.php
    Contact Name: ./sifcontacts
    Calendar Name: ./sifcalendar
    Task Name: ./siftasks
    Note Name: ./sifnotes
Login and password are your MyPTSMail login and password.


Creating a signature in MyPTSMail

To create a signature for your outgoing mail in your MyPTSMail account do the following:
  • Log into your MyPTSMail account.
  • Click on Preferences.
  • Click on Manage Signatures.
  • Click on the Create signature Icon.
  • A new window will come up and allow you to create a signature.
You can have multiple signatures and choose one as your default.


Importing or Exporting your Address Book to or from Outlook

If you want to import or export your address book to or from Outlook or Outlook Express to or from the MyPTSMail web mail you can import or export the address book as a CSV file and import or export it into Outlook or Outlook Express.


Posting to Categories in Your Blog by Email

When you post to your MyPTSMail blog by email you can post to a category or categories doing the following:

In the subject do the following:
    Subject: Com: the subject
This says post to the category starting with Com. If you have a category named Computers it will post to that. The subject will be whatever you put after the Com:

To post to multiple categories do the following:
    Subject: [Com] [ Wor] new subject
This says post to the categories beginning with Com and Wor. If you have a category named Computers and a category named Wordpress it will post to both. The subject will be anything after [Wor].


Sharing Your Calendar with Friends in MyPTSMail

You can share your calendar with your friends and family in MyPTSMail by contacting support and requesting that you be added to the group whose calendar you want to share. When this completed you can share the calendar with your friends and family.


How to Set Your Own Exception or Restriction in MyPTSMail

To set your own email exception or restriction in MyPTSMail you need to do the following:
    1. Go to the MyPTSMail home page.
    2. Click on the Allow/Deny Address
    3. Choose "Allow or Deny Email address"
    4. This will show you your current exceptions and restrictions.
    5. From here you can add or delete restrictions or exceptions for your mail. Just put in the from address and whether you want to block the email or allow anything from that address.

How to Retrieve Lost or Blocked Email

You can retrieve email that you feel has been blocked as spam or that you accidentally erased from your myptsmail account. It will be back in your mailbox right away. To recover lost email do the following:
    1. Go to the MyPTSMail home page
    2. Click on Retrieve Rejected Message
    3. Login in using your email address and password.
    4. Select Read or Retrieve Message
This will give you a list of all of the email that has been sent to you with the date and status. Select the message you either want to read or recover. Then choose "Read Message" or "Retrieve Message". If choose to read it will be displayed on the screen. If you choose to recover then it will be appended to your mailbox.

If you are having mail from other mail servers put in your mailbox you will see those to.


How To Set A Cellular Email Alert With MyPTSMail

Setting and email alert to your cell phone is straight forward with your myptsmail account.
    1. Goto the MyPTSMail home page.
    2. Click on the Set Email Alert link.
    3. Login using your full email address and password.
    4. At the Main Menu choose "Add or Delete Email Alert"
    5. On this screen you will see all of your current email alerts. You add or Delete here.
The actions are immediate. While you can send email alerts to any email address, the most common use is to a cell phone. When you do this, the message goes to your mailbox as well as your cell phone or pda. The most common cell carriers can be found with a link on the page. You can also send to multiple cell phones at the same time. This works even with email accounts you are consolidating into your MyPTSMail account.
